Lawn Zoo

GramadoZoo is not just a recreational tourist space. In operation since September 2008, GramadoZoo brings a new concept to the segment. Animal welfare, research, environmental education and conservation are the pillars that guide the enterprise’s activities. Instead of bars and cages, armored glass and huge immersion ponds faithfully reproduce the species’ habitat.

GramadoZoo also innovates by presenting animals exclusively from the Brazilian fauna, which has the greatest biodiversity on the planet.

At the Gramado Zoo, endangered species receive special care for reproduction and research. With a veterinary hospital, nursery and special environments for animals in hot weather, the zoo has a specialized team of biologists, veterinarians and environmental educators, who provide visitors with a perfect harmony between man and nature.

During the course of 1,800 meters of the Zoo, the visitor receives information through the environmental educators, the illustrative signs that are easy to read, which help the enterprise to fulfill one of its main goals: environmental education.

Another great novelty is the visitation at night, which allows a unique experience of observing species with nocturnal habits, offering a totally different option in the segment.

To become a reference, it took five years to open the park to the public: three years of research and two of construction, which gives an idea of the care involved in implementing GramadoZoo.

The park also has an exclusive store for products that value Brazilian fauna, where part of the amount collected is donated to research and conservation of endangered species.

The park, which is 700 meters from the city’s entrance portico (via Taquara) on RS-115, provides a very high level infrastructure, fully adapted for people with special needs.
