Sawmill: get to know it up close

At the beginning of the colonization of the city of Canela (around 1924), the main economic source was the sawmills. They explored the cutting of the tree called araucaria.

You will see a model of a sawmill in full operation on display in the park, powered by a steam engine. The scenery is rich in details and shows all the stages that the wood goes through when it arrives at a sawmill.
