The visitation consists of an ascent through the interior of the Catedral de Pedras de Canela’s tower.
It has a sacred art museum, telling the story of the Cathedral and of Canon João Marchesi (its creator), narrated by hundreds of objects that portray customs, religiosity, and culture of Canela, between the 1940s and 1970s.

The climb ends at the set of bells called “Carrilhão da Independência”, composed of 12 bronze bells manufactured by the Giacomo Crespi Foundry in São Paulo, weighing about four tons.
The bells show, in high relief, the religious life of the country, the state and the city, with images of events and figures of our homeland.

Upon reaching the top, you can still enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the city of Canela, contemplating it from the side balconies.

Attention: access to the site is only by stairs (about 100 steps along the floors), so this activity is not recommended for people with difficulty in locomotion.
